Client Name: Toronto Film School
Objective: Title design and animation for the abstract psychological drama Three of Swords, a short film by Mario Frietas.
Design Approach: Featuring iconic symbols and imagery from within the film, the titles were created with a blend of hand-drawn illustrations and digital animation using a soft, muted, and mildly melancholy colour palette. Watercolour and ink were used to mirror the film’s dreamy, surreal nature. The titles are animated using a stop-motion style to evoke the tender yet jarring heartache that the film explores.
